I surprised my husband and children with Liverpool tour tickets for Christmas since they’re massive fans—except for our eldest, who supports Arsenal, much to my husband’s disgust! We decided to use the tickets at the start of the summer holidays and made a whole weekend of it, with a little mooch around Liverpool.
Our tour was booked for the afternoon, so we decided to check out all the murals beforehand, which was surprisingly fun! I’d definitely recommend doing a quick Google search first to see where they all are. Even though my husband did some research, we still ended up going in the wrong direction for a couple.
Our daughter is the biggest Liverpool fan, and she absolutely loved this part of the trip. She had her little phone out to take her own photos and then passed it to me so she could stand in front of the murals for her own pictures. Her favourite player is Mo Salah, and seeing her face when we finally found his mural was priceless!
This is 100% worth doing with kids if they’re Liverpool fans—it made the trip so special for our family.
wow— the stadium tour did not disappoint! My kids were absolutely thrilled, especially our daughter, who is the biggest Liverpool fan in the house. Honestly, this was the best thing we bought for our trip.
The tour is self-guided, with the option to use headphones if you want to listen to the official guide along the way. It’s perfect for exploring at your own pace and soaking in all the history. There’s a small café halfway through if you need a quick break or a snack, which was handy with the kids.
We all learnt so many new things about Liverpool FC along the way, from club history to stadium facts. Walking through the changing rooms was incredible, and getting to sit in the players’ seats was a real highlight. The ultimate moment for us was stepping onto the pitch! We were lucky enough to be the first visitors to see the fresh pitch for the new season, which made it even more special. At the same time, we got to watch as they were changing the Nike signs to Adidas—just little behind-the-scenes details that made the tour extra exciting.
Of course, our favourite moment was sitting in Mo Salah’s seat—our daughter couldn’t stop smiling! There were also so many photo opportunities throughout the tour, making it a perfect experience to capture and remember.
If you’re a football fan or have kids who love Liverpool, the Anfield Stadium Tour is an absolute must. The excitement, the history, and the chance to feel like part of the team make it an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Air BnB:
We stayed in a small flat not far from the city centre, the space was perfect for our family of 5, it was 1 bedroom- a double bed and single bed in just the one room and then a pull out double sofa bed in the living room. the flat itself was clean and very stylish, had on street parking, we managed to leave the flat throughout the weekend and have a space by the main door. local shops and take aways near by.
we drove to anfield stadium and city when mooching round, i would recommend googling parking as some parking was more expensive than others, the first night we arrived we drove straight to the docks to walk round and ended up paying £14 for an hours park.
i will add the flat below! it was a really good price too!
