This is the 1st book in Susie's daydreamer series and omg i was so excited to read this, anything that Susie writes and ill be right there reading it. i know i repeat myself in all my reviews and blogs that i do on Susie's books but i honestly just love them, Susie writes such emotional reads where you can deeply feel the characters emotions and what they are going through which i love.

Arndell has now picked up the daydreamer series and they now have new covers which are amazing! you can find these on amazon a waterstones.

Synopsis:

Daydreamer follows a disorganised, daydreamer Lucy, who likes to be tucked away in her village of little Buckingham writing her  novels. Her mum signs her up to work for her brothers best friend, Felix, in London as a assistant, who is also Lucy's massive crush, to help Lucy's social interaction and to get her out into the real world.

lucy is soon to realise how cut-throat his world is and finds herself in a fish out of water.

Felix soon realises what a mistake it was to employ lucy, the shy bookworm who has an obvious crush on him is absolutely rubbish at her job and is the worst assistant he's ever seen. But he's always had a soft spot for lucy whilst growing up together and loved listening to her many stories. well, now that little girl is all grown up...and he cant stop thinking about her.

This book has all my favourite tropes in like, brothers best friend, grumpy boss, grovelling hero, and i really really love to feel the characters emotions, i felt everything from lucy character and Susie does this so well, and its why i love her books so much.

i loved how Susie portrayed Lucy's anxiety, her difficulty being around others, and the way she processes the world differently. i struggle myself with social anxiety so It felt incredibly real and was very thoughtfully written and i just felt connected to lucy more because of this.

Felix on the other hand is grumpy, grounded and confident, reading them turn to friends to strangers and to lovers was a lovely journey.

the workplace harassment and assault was handled with care, my heart broke for lucy when Felix kicked her out the office after the assault, i was so angry at him but i loved the care and how he kept showing up for her as soon as he realised what had happened under his nose and when mike punched him and came to his sisters defence i was screaming with happiness because Felix 100% deserved that!

although lucy was very timid and shy at first, she is so strong with struggling with Reynaud's disease and always putting everyone first above her own needs, i loved seeing her confident grow through the book and how she able to overcome the fear of coming out properly as the author to her books and was able to join in with signing events for her fans.

i recommend this to anyone who likes contemporary romance novels who also loves to feel every emotion from the characters.

i cant wait to read what Susie brings out next!
