Synopsis:

Better Than the Movies is about Liz, a total hopeless romantic who’s always dreamed of a perfect, movie-worthy love story—complete with rain-soaked confessions and epic grand gestures. When her childhood crush Michael moves back to town, she’s convinced this is finally her chance at the rom-com moment she’s always wanted.

The only problem? Her annoying next-door neighbour Wes. He’s smug, sarcastic, and has made her life mildly irritating for as long as she can remember. But she figures he might be able to help her get Michael’s attention… if she can put up with him long enough.

I went into Better Than the Movies completely blind and wasn’t expecting much—just thought it’d be a cute little rom-com to pass the time… but oh my god, it ended up being one of my favourite reads this year. I was hooked from page one and smiling like an idiot by the end 🥹

The banter? Top tier.
The tropes? Chef’s kiss.
The feelings? All of them. All at once.
