Another bargain find from the Works sale—just £1! I couldn’t resist snapping it up. Now, I don’t usually go for historical romances (no idea why, since I often end up enjoying them), but I decided to give this one a try. I ended up giving it 3 stars. It was a solid read, but honestly, I wished there was a bit more spice—yes, I’m one of those readers who loves a little heat in their romance!

Synopsis:

In Regency-era England, 21-year-old Kitty Talbot is left to care for her four younger sisters after their parents' sudden deaths. With their family estate burdened by significant debts, Kitty has only twelve weeks to secure their future. Determined to save her family from ruin, she sets her sights on London’s high society, aiming to marry a wealthy gentleman. However, her plans are complicated by the keen-eyed Lord Radcliffe, who sees through her intentions and is determined to thwart her efforts. As their interactions evolve from adversarial to unexpectedly affectionate, Kitty finds herself questioning her initial motives and discovering that love may be the most unexpected fortune of all.

Just a quick review because I really wanted to share how much I enjoyed A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting. I don’t usually reach for historical romances, but this one totally won me over. From the very start, I was hooked by the witty banter—it had me smiling and fully invested in the characters. Kitty is such a strong, refreshing heroine. I really admired how fiercely she put herself first, not for selfish reasons, but to protect and provide for her younger sisters. Her determination and cleverness made the story feel genuine and heartfelt. This book was a charming surprise that reminded me why historical romance is such a beloved genre for so many. Definitely one I’d recommend to anyone who loves smart, bold characters and a dash of clever humour.

Whilst reading this I realised I don't actually have any historical romance themed bookmarks or stickers, I think that's something that is going into my notepad of ideas to create, which seems to be never ending! If you have any ideas let me know!
